Cyclones secure multiple finals spots in day two of Wildcat Invitational

The ISU tennis team opened day two of the Juan Varon Wildcat Invitational with its usual hot start.

The Cyclones opened doubles play with another convincing win from Samantha Budai and Liza Buss, who won 8-5.

The tandem of Alejandra Galvis and Annabella Bonadonna also came through with an 8-0 sweep to bring the Cyclones to 2-0 for the day. The team ended up dropping its final match, finishing 2-1, and 5-1 for the tournament.

The team had great success in singles play, with multiple players advancing to the finals. The Cyclones would go 7-1, continuing their incredible play from day one. Buss won her first two matches to advance to the gold bracket final.

The maroon bracket, featuring Claudia Toledo and Galvis, is in store for an all-ISU final, after each of them won their two matches. Regina Espindola and Bonadonna would also go on to win their two matches and earn their spots in the finals.

The Cyclones will conclude the tournament Sunday, with play beginning at 12 p.m. They have positioned themselves for a great finish with multiple opportunities to come home with finals championships.
