Iowa State Women’s Golf in eighth place after first day of Windy City Collegiate.

Iowa State used a two round score of 581 to put themselves in 8th place after two rounds of the Windy City Collegiate.

Iowa State shot a round one 291 and a round two 287 to place themselves 19 strokes back with one day left in the tournament hosted by Northwestern University at Westmoreland Country Club.

The Cyclones were once again paced by sophomore Celia Barquin, Barquin shot a 71 and 69 in the first two rounds. Barquin is tied for seventh and only three strokes back of the individual leaders, Bailey Tardy from Georgia and Hannah Kim from Northwestern

Parinda Phokan, a freshman, used her career low 68 in the second round and a first round 76 to move her into a tie for 24th place and seven strokes back of the lead.

Georgia paces the field with a in two round score of  562, putting them two strokes ahead of second place Northwestern.

The third and final round of the tournament with partake tomorrow in Wilmette, Illinois.
