Lesbian Poetry, Paper Ceilings, Flavor Basket to perform Wednesday

Jacob Beals

Lesbian Poetry, Paper Ceilings and Flavor Basket will perform at the Iowa Music Store on Wednesday. The event will start at 8 p.m. and costs $5 at the door.

By day, the Iowa Music Store serves as a place to purchase albums and merchandise from local Iowa artists, but by night the store turns into a concert venue, hosting acts and open mic nights throughout the year.

Lesbian Poetry and Paper Ceilings are currently touring together around the Midwest. Lesbian Poetry is from Des Monies and is known for his rock music and rock album called “Rock and Roll is Easy.” Paper Ceilings is a pop artist from Columbia, Mo., who is coming off his most recent album, “Baseball.”

Finally, Flavor Basket is a local Ames artist who has performed in many venues around the area, including the fifth annual Maximum Ames Music Festival. He performs with a punk rock style and has been seen in many venues locally. Some of his better known albums are “1995” and “Artificial Flavor.”
