The ISU women’s golf team finished tied for fourth out of 18 teams in the 2015 Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational on Tuesday.

The Cyclones finished this week’s tournament at the University of New Mexico’s Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a total score of 3-over-par to finish 23 strokes back of Stanford, who won the tournament with a score of 20 strokes under.

The only other Big 12 School in the tournament, Oklahoma State, also finished at 3-over-par to tie with Iowa State for fourth place.

Sophomore Celia Barquin led Coach Christie Martens’ Iowa State team with a full tournament 3-under-par to earn her sixth career top-10 finish. Chayanit Wangmahaporn, a freshman from Thailand, also helped with Iowa State’s high finish by shooting a 3-under-par 70 in the last round to push her total tournament score to even with par.

Iowa State shot a few low scores on the front nine of the third and final round to just put them ahead of Oklahoma State and grab sole possession of fourth, but then mixed that with a 3-over-par to push them back into a final tie with Oklahoma State.

Iowa State’s next tournament is the Mercedes Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tennessee that starts on Monday, September 21.
