Student Health Center review isn’t sterile

Iowa State University received Keeling & Associates’ review of the Thielen Student Health center over the summer, and the results weren’t favorable.

“It was one of the most harsh reports I’ve read,” said President Steven Leath.

The study, commissioned in September 2014, found problems including poor care quality and cited a “serious, chronic and corrosive lack of leadership.”

In an attempt to correct the problem the university has hired Mary Hensley as interim director of the Student Health Center, and is currently searching for a permanent director.
