The ISU women’s track and field team punched one final ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championship on Saturday at the NCAA West Preliminaries.

Senior Christina Hillman finished first in the shot put with a mark of 56-feet-2.75-inches, earning a return to Eugene, Ore., on June 10-13 for nationals after taking the title there a year ago.

Hillman is the fifth ISU athlete who qualified to compete in Eugene, joining freshman Jhoanmy Luque, sophomore Marine Vallet, redshirt senior Katy Moen and senior Kendra White.

Luque started day three of regionals for the Cyclones, finishing 19th in the triple jump and falling short of qualifying for nationals in the event. She did, however, qualify in the long jump on day one.

Despite setting a personal record in the 1,500-meter run, junior Perez Rotich was unable to qualify as she finished 20th in 4:23.72.

Redshirt freshman Erin Hooker’s season ended with a 12th place performance in her heat in the 5,000-meter run. Hooker finished in 16:34.26.
