Softball team racks up all Big 12 honors

The Iowa State softball team racked up postseason awards on May 13. Three Cyclones received all-Big 12 honors. The three ISU players to receive awards were: junior Aly Cappaert, junior Brittany Gomez and freshman Kelsey McFarland.

Cappaert, who was tied for first on the Cyclones in home runs with 11, claimed all-Big 12 first team honors.

Gomez, who led the Big 12 in hits this season, claimed two all-Big 12 honors. The first Big 12 honor she received was all-Big 12 second team. The other all Big 12 honor Gomez claimed was all-Big 12 defensive team.

McFarland, who had three grand slams for the Cyclones this season, claimed all-Big 12 freshman team.
