Only four athletes made appearances for the ISU women’s track and field at the Jim Duncan Invitational on Saturday, but the ones that were made didn’t go unnoticed.

Redshirt freshman Katie Reeves got things started for the Cyclones with a second place finish in the high jump.

Redshirt seniors Anna Holtermann and Kayla Sanborn both added top five performances in the hammer throw.

The highlight of the day for the Cyclones came toward the end. After working on improving the last 200 meters of the 400-meter hurdle race in practice, junior Alyssa Gonzalez ran a personal record in her premiere outdoor event, finishing with a time of 1:00.24. Gonzalez’s first place finish represented the lone title of the invitational for the women’s team.

Next up for the Cyclones is the Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday.
