ISU tennis loses in New York

The ISU tennis team took a loss to St. John’s in Queens, N.Y. by a score of 4-1, bringing its overall season record to 5-8. 

The only point for Iowa State came from junior Alejandra Galvis in her singles win. Galvis is 6-2 this season in singles play with four unfinished matches. 

The teams only played singles matches, leaving the number one singles match unfinished. 

Senior Caroline Andersen was the only match that went into a deciding third set, which she lost 5-7, 6-4, 2-6. 

This is the first of four matches this week for the ISU tennis team. Its next match will take place March 17 in Connecticut against Quinnipiac. Then, the team travels to Kansas for two Big 12 matches during the weekend.
