The Cyclones needed Montè Morris and Georges Niang to have near-career performances to knock off Texas in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 tournament, but against Oklahoma, the attack balanced out.

Iowa State had four players in double figures with Niang scoring 13, Jameel McKay scoring 12, Morris scoring 11 and Bryce Dejean-Jones scoring 10.

But the rest of the team did their part as well, with Naz Long scoring eight points, Abdel Nader scoring seven and Dustin Hogue scoring six. The balanced attack has been touted as one of the best in the nation as six players ended the regular season averaging 10 points per game or better.

“Obviously we are going to need [good bench play on Saturday],” Hoiberg said. “We’ve got guys that have played really heavy minutes these first couple games and it’s going to be very important for [the bench] to give us minutes.”

The Cyclones beat the Sooners 67-65 in the semifinal round of the Big 12 tournament to advance to the final against Kansas on March 14.
