During the evening of Jan. 31, students took to the app, Yik Yak, to plan a massive snowball fight on Central Campus. The fight was scheduled for 9:30 p.m. after it had been snowing most of the day. More than 200 students showed up to the event, ready to pelt strangers with snowballs. Some students even brought props such as foam swords and cardboard shields. A few people hid in trees to pelt unsuspecting passer-byes, although the tree-dwellers were soon targeted themselves. Other students on Central Campus took advantage of the fresh snow by creating massive snow sculptures. One group put a giant snowman inside the campanile.
