Iowa State channels frustration into wins

While Iowa State picked up another loss that left players and coaches frustrated with the Big 12 race coming to a close, history shows that a loss doesn’t mean the start of a trend.

In the team’s seven losses this season, six of them have been followed up by a win:

L vs. Maryland, 72-63 — W vs. Lamar, 96-59

L vs. South Carolina, 64-60 — W vs. Oklahoma State, 63-61

L at No. 22 Baylor, 74-73 — W vs. No. 9 Kansas, 86-81

L at Texas Tech, 78-73 — W vs. No. 19 Texas, 89-86

L at No. 8 Kansas, 89-76 — W vs. Texas Tech, 75-38

L at No. 17 Oklahoma, 94-83 — W vs. No. 22 West Virginia, 79-59

The only loss remaining on the schedule was against No. 19 Baylor on Feb. 25. When the Cyclones take on Kansas State on Feb. 28, they have a chance to continue the streak of avenging losses as they continue to battle for the Big 12 title.
