Marquette gets the best of ISU tennis

The ISU tennis team lost for a second straight day, continuing its losing streak to four.

The 4-1 loss against Marquette puts the team’s record at 2-4 on the season.

Iowa State started slow in doubles and couldn’t fight back to win the doubles point. With a down attitude going into singles, the team just couldn’t find an opportunity to win.

Senior Meghan Cassens was the lone player to earn a point for the team, but junior Alejandra Galvis and senior Ksenia Pronina were on the verge of winning, but weren’t able to finish.

The team will need to regroup quickly because it finishes the weekend at home against Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 9 a.m. March 1.
