Branstad was given fluids and stayed overnight.

The governor’s personal physician, Kevin Cunningham, said Branstatd is now in “good condition.”

“He is now resting comfortably at Terrace Hill. After seeing him both Monday evening and this morning, and personally reviewing his medical tests and records, it’s my opinion as a medical professional that the incident was caused by a mild flu and dehydration.”

Cunningham said other factors, including cardiac issues and stroke, were ruled out. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will resume their regular schedules on Monday, Feb. 2.
