ISU 133-pounder Earl Hall has been named the wrestler of the week by the Big 12 after taking first place at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Jan. 2.

Hall ran the table at one of the top tournaments of the season, defeating three top-10 opponents en route to his championship. Hall defeated No. 10 George DiCamillo from Virginia and No. 5 Jimmy Gulibon from Penn State, before scoring a 5-2 victory against No. 8 Rossi Bruno out of Michigan.

The All-American’s win at the Southern Scuffle comes after a fourth place finish at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite. Hall is 17-4 on the season, which ranks him second on the team for most wins. Hall is the second ISU wrestler to be named wrestler of the week by the Big 12, after Kyven Gadson was bestowed the same honor Dec. 8.

The ISU wrestling team kicks off its home dual schedule at 2 p.m. on Jan. 11 at Hilton Coliseum.
