Cyclones move up six spots to No. 11 in AP Poll

In a week which saw 15 of the 25 teams in the Associated Press Poll pick up at least one loss, Iowa State took advantage of a 2-0 week, including a road win against then-No. 14 West Virginia to move to No. 11 in this week’s poll.

The six-spot move was the biggest move up in the rankings of any team, while Big 12 foe Texas made the biggest drop, from No. 10 to No. 20.

The Big 12 landed seven teams in the poll for the second time this season, the most of any conference. Oklahoma State moved into the poll for the first time this season, despite falling to Iowa State in Ames earlier in the week.

Two ISU non-conference opponents continue their stays in the polls as Arkansas moved up four spots to No. 19 and Maryland dropped three spots to No. 14.

Iowa State’s two opponents this week will also be ranked, as the Cyclones travel to No. 22 Baylor before hosting No. 9 Kansas as they host ESPN’s College GameDay at Hilton Coliseum.
