Healthy Beauty Tips

Concerned about breakouts, aging and blemishes on your face when waking up in the morning? Maybe it’s time to mix up the usual makeup routine. Here are some simple and healthy changes to start and end the day with a glamorous face.

Clean Face

Before putting on makeup, start the day with a clean face. Use a preferred facial cleaner and wash your face for a good minute. Having clean skin can benefit makeup usage and create ease when applying makeup on the face. Use moisturizer after washing the face to seal all open pores and to prevent dry skin. Using moisturizer can also be an adhesive primer to help makeup last longer. Exfoliator can be used to create softer and brighter looking skin.

Dirty Makeup Brushes

Many people have never considered that breakouts can come from dirty makeup brushes. Makeup brushes will collect layers and layers of makeup after every usage. This can cause bacteria, dirt and oils to build in the brush itself. Clean skin gets contaminated if the residue is applied back on to the face. Consider washing each brush with a brush cleanser. Individuals are able to purchase these cleaners at their local drugstore or makeup stores.  They can also make the cleaner themselves to stay within their budget. Individuals should to clean their brushes after every use to prevent building residue and future acne.  Use brush containers after every cleaning session to make the cleaning last longer.

Old Makeup

Ever notice the old makeup sitting at the bottom of your cosmetic bag?  It’s important to clean out your makeup bag every month, as seen from beauty guru Cemre Karakaya on ‘The Makeup Chair’ from YouTube. She suggest makeup bags should be cleaned every six to 10 months to avoid applying old and expired makeup that is filled with aged bacteria on their faces. Label each beauty product with the date purchased to keep track of which makeup products are old and which makeup products are new.

Ending a long day

After a long day with a face full of makeup, it’s just as important to wash the face at night as it is in the morning. Individuals want their skin to breathe, and by sleeping with a face full of makeup, dirt and oily residue can cling on the skin through the whole night, causing aging and breakouts the next morning. Purchase a night time solution to help the face recover from a long day.
