The ISU women’s basketball team opens its 2014-15 season against USC Upstate at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at Hilton Coliseum. Keep an eye on three Cyclones in particular, who will be key to the team’s success this season.

#15 Nicole “Kidd” Blaskowsky: Kidd is a sharpshooter from deep, netting eight 3-pointers in Iowa State’s two exhibition games this year. In the opener, she’ll return to her spark-off-the-bench role she had last season after starting in place Nikki Moody in the exhibition games.

#11 Jadda Buckley: With 18 points per game from last year lost to graduation, Buckley is expected to take on a bigger scoring role for the Cyclones. Last year, she was the only freshman in the nation to shoot at least 40 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 87 percent on free throws.

#12 Seanna Johnson: Johnson could be a double-double machine for the Cyclones, particularly in the early goings of non-conference play. An All-Big 12 Freshman Team selection last year, Johnson put up 8.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in just 21.5 minutes per exhibition contest.
