Players to watch out for in Cyclone Hockey’s weekend matchups

Cyclone Hockey travels to North Dakota this weekend to take on two teams. On Nov. 7-8 the Cyclones face off against the No. 13 ranked Minot State Beavers. On Nov. 9 they take on National Junior College Athletic Association opponent, the Dakota College-Bottineau Lumberjacks.

Here are some players that may make an impact for the Cyclones.

1. Trevor Lloyd, forward: Lloyd has been on a tear in the last six games. He has a six-game point streak and has scored four goals in as many games. He was named Cyclone Hockey’s Player of the Week after scoring a goal in each of the Cyclones games on Oct. 31- Nov. 1.

2. Matt Cooper, goaltender: Cooper has been nothing short of spectacular for the Cyclones in net. His Goals against average is 1.78 and he owns a record of 5-5-1. His save percentage is .940.

3. Antti Helanto, defenseman: Helanto has shown recently that he can make an impact offensively as well as defensively. He is fourth on the team in points and was named Cyclone Hockey’s Player of the Week following the Oct. 24-25 series.

The Cyclones play the Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on both Nov. 7-8 at the Maysa Arena in Minot, N.D. They then travel to Bottineau, N.D. on Nov. 9 to take on the Lumberjacks in a 1 p.m. game.
