Funniest corporate Twitter accounts

Sam Vander Forest

Big name corporations have found Twitter and other social media sites to be some of the best places for branding. Companies have even hired social media-savvy people to run their accounts and to stay current and quick-witted, so maybe there is a future for you in Tweeting? Nevertheless, here is a list of the most hilarious and most popular corporate Twitter accounts. Some of the companies are the ones with the most creative commercials, others are just ones with a large popular culture presence, and some are just damn good at achieving multiple things at once.

1. Taco Bell- This is an example of a company that doesn’t always have the funniest commercials, but has a massive presence in popular culture. Not only can you see their Twitter account being funny, but also their customers constantly tweet about them and their undeniable love for their product. They excel at staying up-to-date with current social media trends, engaging customers, and are even as we speak petitioning to get a taco emoji.

2. Old Spice- With their insanely random commercials hysterical brand descriptions on their deodorant, Old Spice has made its name as one of the “manliest” and funniest companies. Their Twitter account reflects that, getting into friendly quarrels with Taco Bell and others and never forgetting their core values: manliness.

3. Oreo- By constantly creating its own unique content like ads and vines, this account has to be one of the most original ones out there. Oreo’s account never forgets brand relevancy, constantly posts new recipes with wit, celebrates good causes, and especially pokes fun at comical mainstream jokes.

4. DiGiorno- Less confrontational with other companies than the others on this list, DiGornio excels at pizza poems and engaging customers. They also gained a lot of exposure while poking fun at the Super Bowl game being a smackdown and other widely watched programs. If you’re preferably fond of pizza and a solid laugh, DiGiorno is sure to deliver daily.

5. Charmin’- Many of you I’m sure are surprise by Charmin’ making the list, but the fact that they can create a hashtag and keep it current for so long says a lot. Their hashtag, #tweetfromtheseat, allows for brand relevancy, a wide range of comedy, and family-friendly customer engagement. Cheers to you Charmin’ for being a toilet paper company with one of the funniest social media presences.
