Packers beat another divisional foe in Thursday night game

Remember when the Green Bay Packers started off the season 1-2? Then do you remember when Aaron Rodgers said, “Five letters here just for everybody out there in Packer-land: R-E-L-A-X, we’re going to be OK.”

Well ladies and gentleman, I think the statement from two weeks ago has proven to be true.

The Packers entered last night’s game after beating one of their divisional rivals, the Chicago Bears, 38-10 last week.

This week it was basically the same story, just a different divisional rival. This week’s opponent was the Minnesota Vikings and the outcome was pretty much the same.

Rodgers and the Packers let the world know that the NFC North still goes through them by smacking the Vikings 42-10. The Packers have dismantled two solid division opponents by a combined 53 points.

The Thursday night game showcased what we expected the Packers offense to look like all season with Eddie Lacy topping his season high for rushing yards with 105 yards and two touchdowns. Rodgers did only have 12 completions, but when he made them, he made them count for 156 yards and three touchdowns.

The Vikings started the game with their third quarterback of the season after the rookie QB, Teddy Bridgewater, sat out last night with an injury. Christian Ponder stood under center, and he had no chance from the first snap. Mike Daniels led the way for the Packers with four quarterback hits while the rest of the team combined to have an incredible total of 14 QB hits and six sacks on Ponder.

The Vikings did end up with almost 300 yards of total offense, but three turnovers and 100 yards of penalties became the daunting factor to this crushing loss.

It will be back to the drawing board with hopes of a Teddy Bridgewater return for the Vikings while the Packers hope to continue to prove their fans wrong by continuing to improve each week.
