Kaepernick shines as 49ers roll over Rams

Most players are at their best when they are playing in their normal Sunday afternoon game. Others thrive under the lights during primetime on Monday night. Colin Kaepernick clearly prefers the Monday night games over both options.

The fourth-year quarterback threw for 343 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, helping the San Francisco 49ers to a 31-17 win over the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome Monday night.

Kaepernick in his fourth-year, also played in his fourth Monday night game against the Rams.  Kaepernick is averaging 254.5 passing yards per game with nine touchdowns and no interceptions in MNF battles. The Niners are 4-0 in those contests, as well.

Kaepernick was quoted stating, “Our receivers did a great job today. Our offensive line did a great job, protecting us and giving us time, as well.”

That is typically the name of the game though, good quarterback play equals wins. Which is exactly what the 49ers needed last night. The 49ers entered the game with a 3-2 record and ridiculous statements about head coach Jim Harbaugh’s job up for grabs. This win hopes to shine light into what the 49ers expected this season to be with promise of consistently strong play by Kaepernick to lead.

The 49ers will be tested next week when they enter primetime again, but this time on Sunday night against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Then the Rams will be facing the other NFC West power in the Seattle Seahawks for next week’s battle.
