Manning becomes NFL’s best

Kyle Kubiak

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning officially became the greatest touchdown passer in NFL history Sunday night when he set the new all-time mark for the most career passing touchdowns with his 509th regular-season scoring toss.

The record-breaking play came on an eight-yard route to receiver Demaryius Thomas against the San Francisco 49ers. The pass did not come in with controversy as the Broncos marched on to beat the 49ers 42-17. Manning would go on to finish with a 22-of-26 night with 318 yards and four TDs.

SportsCenter reported that Manning’s top targets in his career are as followed:

Peyton Manning’s top 5 TD targets:

• Marvin Harrison: 112

• Reggie Wayne: 67

• Dallas Clark: 44

• Marcus Pollard: 34

• Demaryius Thomas: 29

Demaryius Thomas is the only non Colt target on the list due to Indianapolis being where Manning played for the majority of his career before leaving for the Broncos after his 2nd neck surgery.

Clearly the neck surgery is still not slowing down Manning as he continues to show America he is one of the best in the game at the age of 38.

Manning surpassed Brett Favre’s record in the Sunday night game.

Games to reach 500 TD passes

Brett Favre – 293

Peyton Manning – 244

Congratulations Peyton, you’ll go down as one of the best to ever play.
