Ani DiFranco will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Stephens Auditorium.

The self-described Little Folksinger is touring in support of her 2012 album “Which Side are You On?” and will release her newest album “Allergic to Water” in November. DiFranco has been singing for more than 20 years and sets the pace for herself, encouraging other artists to do the same.

DiFranco’s own record label, Righteous Babe Records, has produced 20 of DiFranco’s albums ranging from the popular 1997 two-disc album “Living In Clip” (to some of her more recent albums. DiFranco often experiments with multiple music genres and tests the limits of what can be said and sung. With a strong belief in human rights, DiFranco has played at numerous benefit concerts around the world.

“Which Side are You On?” is DiFranco’s first studio album in more than three years and features 11 songs, along with a new rendition of the classic title song. DiFranco has collaborated with Pete Seeger and Utah Phillips as well as other renowned artists like Prince, Bruce Springsteen and Cyndi Lauper.
