Iowa State falls to Texas 48-45

In a game that went right down to the wire for the second year in a row, the Cyclones have fallen again. Texas (3-4 overall, 2-2 Big 12) outlasted Iowa State on Saturday, winning 48-45 in Austin.

The Longhorns jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice within the first seven minutes of the game. Iowa State responded in the second quarter, scoring 21 points to get back in the game.

With less than a minute left in the game, E.J. Bibbs scored an 11-yard touchdown to tie it. The Longhorns then drove 68 yards down the field in just 19 seconds to put them in field goal position. Nick Rose kicked a 21-yard field goal to give Texas the win.

Sam Richardson had his second consecutive game with more than 300 yards through the air. Richardson went 36-for-55 for 345 yards and threw three touchdowns. Richardson also had two interceptions on the night.

Iowa State (2-5 overall, 0-4 Big 12) will take the field next on Nov. 1 when it hosts Oklahoma.
