Cyclone Hockey came off a big win Friday night and kept the momentum going into Saturday night’s game against Michigan-Dearborn.

The Cyclones started off strong with a goal from Eero Helanto just over a minute into the first period. Two minutes later, Jake Bruhn found the back of the net to put the Cyclones up 2-0.

Nate Percy capitalized on his opportunity to give Iowa State a commanding 3-0 lead. Iowa State kept shooting and kept scoring as it ended the first period with a 7-0 lead.

The Cyclones’ scoring outbreak cooled off in the second, but they still managed to score a goal coming from Trevor Lloyd on a breakaway. Iowa State controlled the puck for the majority of the second period and went into the third with an 8-0 lead.

Iowa State kept the tempo going as Eero Helanto scored another goal to put the Cyclones up 9-0 as they blanked the Wolverines to sweep the two-game series.
