ISU swimming & diving starts season with big win

The ISU swimming and diving team began its season with a convincing 203-91 victory Oct. 17 at Beyer Pool. The Cyclones were able to continue their winning streak against South Dakota State with an 11th straight win over the Jackrabbits.

In the first event, the 400 yard medley relay, the Cyclones swept the board by taking the top three places. Bre Loeschke, Kaylee Kucera, Ali Stearns and Maddie Rastall led the way for Iowa State in the event.

Loeschke and teammate Amanda Paulson finished the night with three victories each for the Cyclones.

ISU diver Elyse Brioulette scored the best dive of anyone in Beyer Hall, a 247.57 in the 1-M dive. Brouillette also was the top diver in the 3-M, finishing with 247.05 points.

The Cyclones turn around quick to take on the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 at Beyer Hall.
