Ag internship opportunities in Ames

Getting experience in multiple facets of the field of agriculture is important to being a versatile asset to any company.

There are the typical co-ops and summer internships that most think about, but there are also opportunities on campus and in Ames with companies and organizations looking for part-time help during the school year.

Students can use CyHire to find many of these opportunities, but here are a few that are still looking for summer help as well as part-time weekend help.

1. Iowa Select Farms

Part-time student work experience that allows students to apply what they are learning in the classroom to a real-world setting. Also providing them with the skills necessary for successful careers after college.

2. State Forest Nursery

Natural Resource Aide — Work as part of the Forestry Bureau team to grow and provide conservation seedlings to the public.

3. Renewable Energy Group

Procurement Interns — Assist in the analysis of the existing purchasing projects, as well as assist in the evaluation of potential business development opportunities.

Corporate Business position — Development with a focus on research, strategic analysis, and financial modeling of new technologies for biofuels, biochemicals, bio-products and environmental services.

4. ISU CyBIZ Lab, a student consulting and experiential learning program

Part-time Agriculture Intern — Looking for an undergraduate student to work on a team performing market research in the global agriculture sector.

5. Prairie Rivers of Iowa Resource Conservation and Development

Garden Coordinator — Assist with implementation of their Central Iowa Garden Project.
