Cyclone Hockey ends losing streak

Cyclone Hockey ended its three-game losing streak in a big way on Friday night, beating the Indiana Tech Warriors 5-0 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

The No. 5 ranked Cyclones (6-3-0-1, 2-3-0-1 ACHA) came out of the gate ready to play, spending the majority of the first period in the offensive zone.

J.P. Kascsak put them on the board early by cleaning up a rebound shot from Kody Reuter six minutes into the period. The Cyclones outshot the Warriors (2-4-0-0, 1-4-0-0 ACHA) in the first, but failed to score on the majority of the scoring opportunities.

The Cyclones came out just as fast in the second period and extended their lead by one. Kascsak scored his second of the game off a two-line pass from Mike Dopko that Kascsak finished with a backhand shot.

All of the scoring chances finally paid off for the Cyclones, who netted three goals in the third period to solidify the win.

Cyclone Hockey returns to action when it faces Lindenwood University at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
