After what seemed like a promising first half, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were just too much for the Cyclones to contain.

Oklahoma State (4-1, 2-0 Big 12) defeated Iowa State 37-20 on Oct. 4, bringing Iowa State’s record to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

The Cyclones were neck and neck with the Cowboys just before the half. The momentum suddenly changed when Oklahoma State recovered their own kickoff and scored a touchdown in the closing seconds of the half. From there, the Cowboys never looked back, scoring three more touchdowns and kicking a field goal in the second half.

The run game continued to struggle for the Cyclones, with running backs Aaron Wimberly, DeVondrick Nealy and Martinez Syria combining for only 69 yards. Quarterback Sam Richardson ran for 34 yards on the day.

Senior tight end E.J. Bibbs led the receivers on Saturday for the first time this season, catching the ball six times for 69 yards. Bibbs scored two touchdowns on the day, bringing his season total to three.

The Cyclones will take the field again Oct. 11 when they host Toledo at 2:30 p.m.
