Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty: Easily the player of the game, Petty dissected the ISU secondary for most of the game. Minus a second quarter interception to T.J. Mutcherson, Petty turned in a near perfect performance. Petty completed 30 of 44 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns. Petty also ran for a 16 yard touchdown where he hurdled over Mutcherson before getting into the end zone.

Baylor receiver Corey Coleman: Coleman was in Petty’s sights all night, reeling in 12 catches for 154 yards and one touchdown. Coleman’s second quarter touchdown catch sparked a 21-point run for the Bears, giving them a 35-7 lead as the game went into halftime.

Iowa State quarterback Sam Richardson: Richardson’s pass game picked up in the second half, finishing with a stat line of 17 completions on 39 passes with one interception and two touchdowns. But Richardson’s biggest gains came in the run game. In the third quarter, Richardson broke loose on a read option and scampered for a 47-yard touchdown. He finished with 126 yards on the ground and one touchdown.

Iowa State linebacker Jevohn Miller: Despite the score, Miller turned in another impressive performance on defense. Miller finished the night with 17 total tackles, including nine solo stops. Combined with linebacker Luke Knott, the two had 32 of the 100 tackles on defense.
