What will $1 get you around the world?

$1 Around The World

Ceci Du

Recently, the World Bank posted a poll called “What can you purchase with one dollar?”, collecting answers about what users from around the world can buy using one dollar. The final goal of this activity was to raise awareness to those living in extreme poverty conditions with less than $1.25 to spend daily.

At Iowa State, one dollar can get two hours of street parking, an off-brand bottle of water, or a snack from a vending machine. Those don’t seem like very much. But, please don’t underestimate the power of one US dollar. In some countries, you can buy a big meal for only one dollar.
