Floyd Mayweather’s Average Income Per Boxing Match
September 8, 2014
A boxing match consists of three twelve-minute rounds, unless there is a knockout. Since Mayweather’s debut in October 1996, he has won all forty-six of his matches, and when he wins those matches, he makes a lot of freaking money. Let me break this down for you.
Just to make you cringe:
- The average American income is $51,000 per year
- That would be 2,080 hours of work per year at $24.50 per hour
- 40 cents per minute
- 0.7 cents per second
You would need to work 604 hours to make what he makes in a second.
I’m sorry America, I suppose everyone could stop going to college, find a gym, a coach, and try to become a boxer?
