Ames Jimmy John’s experiences possible data breach
September 24, 2014
Jimmy John’s is investigating a possible data breach at the Grand Avenue location and three other locations in Iowa.
The possible breach is part of a data breach at 216 stores across the nation.
Jimmy John’s said the breach appears to have affected the credit and debit card information of customers who visited locations between June 16 and Sept. 5 of this year. The stolen information includes card numbers, verification codes and expiration dates.
However, only cards used at store locations appear to be affected. Information entered manually or online does not appear to be compromised.
Iowa locations affected by the breach include:
– Des Moines: 4926 SE 14th St. from June 26 to Aug. 5.
– Ankeny: 202 S. Ankeny Blvd. from July 1 to Aug. 1.
– Ames: 2801 N. Grand Ave. from July 1 to Aug. 2.
– Cedar Falls: 2016 College St. from July 7 to Sept. 5.
The chain said concerned customers should monitor their credit and debit accounts and statements.
