Quick Facts

Iowa State is playing its fourth road match in five contests.

The ISU volleyball team (7-3, 0-0 Big 12) has won seven of eight matches, including three of four on the road.

The TCU Horned Frogs (10-5, 0-1 Big 12) have claimed victory in four of its last five contests.

At least two ISU players, senior hitter Victoria Hurtt and redshirt freshman blocker Samara West, are currently battling injuries. Both are expected to play against Texas Christian.

Not-So-Ancient History

The Cyclones beat the Horned Frogs twice in 2013-14 in very different matches. At home, Iowa State swept TCU 3-0. On the road, TCU pushed Iowa State to the maximum five sets.

The Cyclones are fresh off their first five-set match of the 2014-15 season, which came in the form of a victory against Northern Iowa.

The Disadvantage

ISU coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said that the physical elements of different arenas can have varying affects on a team’s passing and serving games.

As a precautionary measure, Johnson-Lynch plans to have her team arrive in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 27 with enough time to conduct a practice at the TCU Recreation Center.
