ISU museums open first week of classes

Various Iowa State University Museums open the first week of classes.
Christian Petersen Art Museum opened its fall exhibit Aug. 25 in Morrill Hall. Gwynn Murrill’s “Menagerie of Maquettes and Sculpture” is in room 1017 and features 60 small bronze maquettes and six large sculptures.
Anderson Sculpture Garden Exhibition surrounding Morrill Hall and the Hub features “Gwynn Murrill Sculptures: A Walk on the Wild Side.” Its display opened Aug. 20. Large-scale sculptures will decorate Morrill Hall and the Hub until July 24, 2016.
The Brunnier Art Museum in the Scheman Building will open its museum Aug. 26 that will include N. C. Wyeth’s “America in the Making: 75th Anniversary” and “After ‘America in the Making'” as well as “Asian Export: The Furniture of Carrie Chapman Catt and Selections from the Decorative Arts Collection.”
The Art Walk in the Lagomarcino Courtyard will host its Legacy of Murals at noon Aug. 27 at Lagomarcino Hall.
The Farm House Museum will host The Farm House Refreshed at 7 p.m. Sept. 4
