Seven of the eight teams participating in the American Solar Challenge cross country road race made it to the Ames checkpoint on July 26. Friends, family and spectators attended the event at the checkpoint in the parking lot south of Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State’s Team PrISUm holds third place in the eight-day race, which goes from Austin, Texas, to Minneapolis. The race will end in Minneapolis on July 28.
