Know where to, not to park during Veishea
April 6, 2014
With all the people attending the activities taking place on campus during Veishea, getting a prime parking spot may be a little tricky.
“During the week of Veishea we will be enforcing parking lots as normal,” said parking enforcement supervisor Aaron Steffen.
Any of the lots that are marked as General Staff or Reserve that open after 5:30 p.m. on Friday will be available for the public to park in the entire weekend. Some of these lots will be closed off, however, during the parade.
Steffen said the best places to park during the parade are Lot 41 near the greenhouses, Lots 30, 31, 34 and 35 north of Pammel Drive or Lot 100 near Lied Recreation Center.
Handicap parking will be available in Lots 36 and 37 near Science II and Lot 43 at Bessey Hall. No one will be able to enter or exit these lots from 9 a.m. until the parade is over.
During the Cherry Pie Scholarship Run and the parade, drivers should avoid Pammel Drive, Osborn Drive, Morrill Road and Wallace Road. Most of these streets will be barricaded.
Since the parking lots along Morrill Road and near the Memorial Union will be within the barricades, they are not available for parking.
