Condition of Ames Mayor Ann Campbell improves

The city of Ames released a statement saying that Ann Campbell, the mayor of Ames, condition has changed from critical to serious. The statement also said that Campbell is soon scheduled to be moved out of the Intensive Care Unit at Mary Greeley Medical Center.
Campbell had a heart attack April 22 and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
“The doctors are urging us to be cautious, yet allowing us to be optimistic. She suffered a major, life-threatening medical event,” said Brian Campbell, the mayor’s son, in the news release.
Brian also thanked the many people who came to the mayor’s aid and got her to the hospital.
