Women’s track takes fourth at Big 12 Championships

The ISU women’s track and field team took fourth place at the Big 12 Indoor Championships held at Lied Recreational Center.

Texas took home the team title with a final score of 147. They were followed by Baylor and Kansas, who scored 102 and 99 points respectively. Iowa State took fourth place with a score of 96 points.

While the Cyclones finished in fourth place, they did crown a number of individual winners. The women’s distance medley relay team won Friday evening, as well as Sam Bluske in the 5000-meter event.

On day two of competition Ejiro Okoro, who is apart of the championship distance medley relay team, also won an individual title in the 800-meter run, with a time of 2:05.43.

Christina Hillman continued her strong performance with a first place finish in the shot put event. The All-American has won five out of six meets this season, with the only exception being the USA Indoor Championships.

The women’s team finished with 14 All-Big 12 performers.
