What sets your business apart?
“We are a diversified financial services company, and we can meet all of our customers’ financial needs, whether it’s a student who needs a loan for educational expenses or a graduate who has their first job is ready with down payment on their first home. In addition to that, one of the key areas that sets us apart is the technology we offer. We want to serve our customers anytime, anywhere. We have traditional brick-and-mortar, but we also offer services like online banking, mobile deposits and SurePay, which allows you to send money to practically anyone using your mobile device. You can reimburse your friend for dinner or pay your sister for buying those concert tickets you wanted so badly.”
How does it feel to be voted the best?
“We’re honored to be voted the Best Bank. Our success is wholly dependent on providing outstanding service to our customers, so we appreciate this feedback from the community and our many loyal customers.”
How long have you been in business? And why did you start your business?
“On March 18, 1852, Henry Wells and William G. Fargo created Wells, Fargo & Company. The new company offered banking and express services to Gold Rush pioneers. Today, Wells Fargo is one of the few American companies doing business for longer than 150 years under its founding name and in its original line of business: banking.”
What is your favorite ISU tradition?
“This one’s easy for us: VEISHEA. We love the festive environment and the excitement it creates in the community. VEISHEA is one of the oldest traditions in our community, and we love to be a part of that.”
What would you like to say to students?
Our vision is: “We want to satisfy all of our customers’ financial needs and help them succeed financially.” Every day when we come to work, we have the opportunity to live out that vision and our values. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve and bring our vision and values to life in this community.
A piece of advice you would like to give?
“For students, retirement is probably not a huge priority. However, studies show that starting to save early and having a plan goes a long way toward financial fitness when you’re ready to retire – so many years down the road. A recent Wells Fargo survey showed that people with a plan have saved three times more than those without plan, and 70 percent are confident they will have enough to retire. Bottom line: Start saving as soon as you can, and it’s never too soon to start planning for your retirement.
For those students who really don’t want to think about retirement right now, we’ll add some career advice: We encourage you to take full advantage of the campus life. Get involved and look for leadership opportunities. Start building your network of contacts. It’ll help you as you graduate and start looking for that first job. And, when you do start looking, we hope you’ll take the time to learn about Wells Fargo and consider us.”
