Two gymnasts claim All-Big 12 honors
March 19, 2014
Two members of the ISU gymnastics team received All-Big 12 honors, the conference announced Wednesday. Senior Camille Santerre-Gervais and junior Caitlin Brown were both named to the team.
Santerre-Gervais was selected on bars, where she has scored 9.900 or better five times this year. The Quebec native has also tied the ISU record on bars twice this season, with scores of 9.950. It is Santerre-Gervais’s second all-conference selection, after being named to the team in 2011.
Brown was named to the team for the all-around event, in which her regional qualifying score of 39.080 is the Big 12’s second-best. Brown has competed in the all-around for Iowa State in every meet this season and is the only ISU gymnast to have competed in every rotation this year. She set a career-high all-around score of 39.275 against West Virginia on Feb. 7.
The ISU gymnastics team will be back in competition Saturday as it vies for the Big 12 Championship in Morgantown, W. Va.
