ISU guard Monte Morris cited for being underage in Ames bar

ISU freshman guard Monte Morris was cited with being underage at Cy’s Roost in Campustown in Ames early Feb. 16, as first reported by the Ames Tribune. 

Ames Police records show Morris was cited with being underage at 121 Welch Ave., the location of Cy’s Roost, at 12:33 a.m. Feb. 16. Cy’s Roost is a 21-year-old and up establishment, and Morris is 18-years old. 

“We are aware of the situation and it is being handled internally,” an ISU spokesperson said when contacted Wednesday. 

Morris has started six games for Iowa State this season and averages 6.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in 25 games for the Cyclones. He scored two points and dished out six assists in the 85-76 victory against Texas Tech Feb. 18.
