ISU women’s basketball falls to Kansas State 80-74

The Iowa State women’s basketball team dropped its third-straight game Saturday, falling to Kansas State 80-74 in Manhattan, Kan. The Cyclones (14-3, 3-3 Big 12) have lost three Big 12 games after starting the season 14-0, the best start in school history.

Early shooting troubles plagued the Cyclones for the second straight game, as the team went 20-for-59 (.339) from the field. Hallie Christofferson was limited to only four points while going 2-for-11 in her first single-digit scoring effort of the season.

Brynn Williamson led the Cyclones with 17 points, going 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Nicole “Kidd” Blaskowsky went 4-for-9 from the 3-point line, where the Cyclones hit 12 3s.

The Cyclones went only 8-for-30 on 2-point field goals.

Four Cyclones scored in double figures, led by Williamson and Blaskowsky (16), followed by Jadda Buckley (14) and Nikki Moody (12). Christofferson led the team with 9 rebounds.

Iowa State will host Oklahoma at 7:00 p.m. Jan. 21 at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones defeated the Sooners in overtime in Norman, Okla. earlier this season.
