Iowa State falls to No. 9 Oklahoma State 29-3
January 24, 2014
Iowa State struggled to get anything going Friday when they took on No. 9 Oklahoma State. The Cowboys (5-4 overall, 2-1 Big 12) got out to a quick start, and didn’t look back, beating the Cyclones 29-3.
All-American Kyven Gadson was the lone Cyclone to record a win with a 3-1 decision against Oklahoma State’s Kyle Crutchmer, preserving his dual match win streak. He is now 24-0 in duals in the last two seasons.
Two ISU wrestlers forced overtime periods Friday, with Earl Hall and Lelund Weatherspoon going the extra period, but failed to close out the match. They lost 4-2 and 3-1, respectively.
Iowa State fell to 6-2 on the year and 1-2 in the Big 12 with the loss. The Cyclones return to the mat next Saturday when they take on Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz.
