The ISU men’s basketball team cracked the top-10 of the Associated Press Poll on Monday, moving to No. 9.

The placement marks the first time since the 2000-01 season that the Cyclones have been ranked in the top-10. The ranking also sets up a top-10 matchup Tuesday against Big 12 conference foe Baylor, who is ranked No. 7.

It will be the first top-10 showdown for the Cyclones since the 2000-01 season when then-No. 7 Iowa State defeated then-No. 6 Kansas, 79-71.

This team is the seventh in school history to crack the top-10.

Iowa State (13-0) has set a record for the best start in program history and has tied its best start in school history at 13 games. The Cyclones finished nonconference play undefeated for the first time since 1956-57 with its win against Northern Illinois last week.

The tipoff against Baylor is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hilton Coliseum. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
