Junior forward Dustin Hogue leaped for a slam dunk during Iowa State’s 80-50 win over the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Hilton Coliseum. Hogue was perfect from beyond the arc making three 3-point shots and missed only one of six shots of the night. Hogue finished with 13 points.

The Lowdown

Iowa State pulled away on a 30-7 run early in the first half to put Auburn away in a 99-70 win Monday night. 

Five Cyclones finished in double figures and were led by Dustin Hogue, who recorded his second double-double and best night at Iowa State with 22 points, 16 rebounds and a steal on the night. Hogue made eight of his 10 attempted shots on the night. 

Senior Melvin Ejim finished with a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Thomas, Naz Long and Monte Morris rounded out the double figure scoring with 14, 11 and 00 respectively. 

Turning Point

With Auburn leading 12-5 with 14:23 left in the first half, Iowa State finished the half on a 42-16 run to make it 47-28 at half and never looked back, winning 99-70.

X Factor

Dustin Hogue — The JUCO transfer finished with a game-high 16 rebounds and 22 points on his way to his second double-double as a Cyclone. The double-double mark was met only 11:49 into the ball game.
