Balsamic strawberries and goat cheese crostini

These crostini are perfect for holiday parties or as an appetizer before the feast on the big holiday. The festive colors are sure to bring cheer and joy to your holidays.
Ingredients:
2 cups strawberries, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Pinch of black pepper
2 tablespoons basil, thinly sliced
4 ounces goat cheese, plain
French baguette, cut into 1/2-inch slices, toasted
Stir together the balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Pour over strawberries and marinate for at least 30 minutes. Slice bread and toast, spread with goat cheese and top with strawberries and garnish with basil.
