Iowa State didn’t have to look too far to find added depth to its roster this season.

ISU coach Bill Fennelly announced Tuesday that former ISU volleyball player Tenisha Matlock will join the ISU women’s basketball team. Matlock’s addition to the team comes a day after it was announced sophomore Madison Baier tore her ACL in her right knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

“Maddy’s injury really forced us to look at every and all options to try and fill a major void we have in the post,” Fennelly said in a news release. “Tenisha has been a big part of our great volleyball program the last four years so she understands competing at this level. Our staff was very impressed with ‘T’ when we met her and we are all excited to give this a try. I also really appreciate the support and help we received from Christy Johnson-Lynch.”

Matlock is eligible to practice with the team right away, but her eligibility to compete is pending at this time.
