Nighttime beauty tricks help speed up a morning routine
December 24, 2013
It can take some girls over an hour to get ready in the morning, but this high-profile maintenance routine isn’t a good mix with 8 a.m. classes. The good news is that taking a few extra steps at night can save you some extra beauty sleep in the morning.
Curling your hair in the morning can be a hassle and it can take quite a bit of time out of your morning routine; however, you don’t have to wake up early to achieve those luscious curls. With a few bobby pins, you can do most of the work at night.
After washing your hair, take small strands of damp hair and twist them around your finger creating a spiral and bobby pin the section to your roots. When you wake up in the morning, the only work you’ll have to do is to take the bobby pins out.
For a more relaxed style, achieving overnight beach waves is a cinch. Divide damp hair into two sections and French braid each side. Secure with a hair tie. In the morning take out your braids for beautiful beach waves.
If you aren’t looking for texture, but want full, voluminous hair when you wake up, pull damp hair into a high ponytail. Wrap the ponytail around itself creating a loose bun. Secure with bobby pins, you’ll awake to more luscious, manageable hair in the morning.
Appling make up to problem areas in the morning is a tedious process. The good news is that pimple that just popped up can be gone by morning with a few extra steps at night.
Along with overnight acne products from brands like Clean and Clear, Clearasil and Neutrogena, there are several home remedies for overnight treatment as well. Try dabbing a drop of honey on any blemishes you may have before you go to bed. The honey will kill bacteria and help reduce the size of any pimples before you wake up.
During the wintertime, it’s easy for lips to get dry and chapped. Using a lip balm in the morning may be a waste when half of the product ends up on the lid of your coffee cup. You can skip the lip products in the morning with a few extra steps before you go to sleep.
While you’re brushing your teeth, try brushing your lips with your toothbrush as well. This will exfoliate them and clear away dead skin cells from the day. Then, apply Vaseline to your lips before you go to sleep. When you wake up, your lips will be soft and smooth without the need to apply your usual lip products.
Keeping the rest of your body soft and smooth is also important and this too can progress overnight. Try applying an ample amount of lotion to your hands and feet before bed. Wear socks and gloves overnight to lock the moisturizer in so it can do its work while you sleep. When you wake up you’ll notice more radiant skin.
